2 pounds 1 kg chicken drumsticks (skinless)
1 1/2 cups (375 ml) milk
1/4 cup (50 ml) cornstarch
1/3 cup (75 ml) soy sauce
1/4 cup (50 ml) liquid honey
2 tbsp (30 ml) rice or white vinegar
3 cloves garlic, minced with the world famous Garlic Chop™ …..do not use a garlic press, if you do it will ruin the garlic recipe
2 green onions, thinly sliced
2 tbsp (30 ml) toasted sesame seeds

Instructions for making wonderful Honey Roasted Garlic Chicken garlic recipe:

– Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Lightly grease a clear glass baking dish
– Whisk milk and cornstarch together
– Place Chicken into the baking dish
-Whisk soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, and garlic in another bowl
-Pour both bowls of whisked items evenly over the chicken
-Bake 25 minutes, stir on occasion. At 25min mark stir in the green onions and sprinkle the sesame seeds on the top.
-Bake for 5 to 10 minutes longer. Before removing please make sure chicken is cooked through and sauce is nice and thick.
Serve and eat. Works well with rice and vegetables.

Do not use a garlic press. A garlic press will not work for this recipe.

Core the peppers and chop finely.

Handful of breadcrumbs Handful of chopped parsley and coriander
Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions for making this wonderful garlic recipe for garlic mushroom chicken:

Melt butter in a saucepan and add chopped mushrooms and chopped (non garlic pressed) garlic. Cook for eight minutes while stirring.
Add the herbs and salt and peeper to the garlic mushroom medley then add the breadcrumbs. The breadcrumbs will solidify the medley and allow you to bind it together to form a paste like combination.
Slice the breasts in half on one side to create a pocket and place the garlic mushroom business inside. Seal with toothpicks around the edges.
Place the chicken into preheated oven (200C – 400F) and cook for 25-28minutes.

Four decent sized chicken breasts. Or if you are a dark meat lover use chicken legs or thighs

2 blubs of chopped garlic cloves ( do not use a garlic press, this recipe will not work. Again do not use a garlic press.  Only turn the garlic one or two times in the Garlic Chop. You want the chunks nice and big.
Half cup of Vinegar (white)
Half cup of Soy Sauce
Half cup of water
Salt and Pepper to taste

Instructions for making this wonderful garlic recipe for garlic adobo:

Sear chicken (until brown) in a pan then put the grease down the drain. Do this while no one else is looking. Some people frown upon dumping grease or fat down the sink. I am an advocate of improper grease dumping. It’s just how I roll.

Add the non garlic pressed garlic, soy sauce, vinegar, and water

Cook whiled covered for forty five minutes. Keep checking as you want the chicken to be tender.

Guyanese Pork Garlic Recipe

Ingredients:
You will need some time for this garlic recipe. Like 4-5 days……but it’s totally worth it.
Getting started: Thinly sliced “fresh” pork. salt, vinegar, chopped garlic, and fresh thyme.

– Get yourself a large glass jar. Bank in using this for pork only to avoid contamination
– Sprinkle (generously) salt, chopped garlic and thyme on the bottom of the jar.
– Place the pork on top of the chopped garlic et all.
– Again, Sprinkle (generously) salt, chopped garlic and thyme on the bottom of the jar. Then add another layer of pork. Keep going until the jar is three quarters full.
– Make sure the final layer is the chopped garlic etc
– Fill the jar with vinegar. Then make sure all air bubbles are released by pushing down on the pork.
– Leave for four to five days. I would suggest opening and moving the meat around once a day to make sure the flavor crystals of the vinegar is making its way through all of the pork.
– On the last day boil the meat in water (with thyme and chopped garlic) for three to five minutes. When done try it with paper towels.
– Fry in olive oil until golden brown.
– Eat!

Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Garlic mashed potatoes rock. That’s all I can say. Most steak houses offer it as a side and it’s a perfect side dish for any meal. Here an easy way to make it…………..

Serves 4x

Ingredients:

  • 4 decent size potatoes
  • 2 heads of garlic
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tblsp dried thyme
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Directions:

Peel the garlic leaving the cloves whole. Place them in a shallow baking dish. Drizzle with oil add the thyme and Bake at 350 degrees (covered) for 20 to 30 minutes or until golden brown. Drain and save oil (excellent for sautéed vegetables).

Boil in salted water for 20-30 minutes or until they are soft. In another pot heat the milk, buttermilk and the butter. When the potatoes are done drain and return them to the same pot. Add the garlic then add the milk and butter a little at a time while mashing until desired consistency is achieved. Season potatoes with salt and pepper to taste.

Roast Beef with Garlic Inserts

Okay, I tried this recipe this evening. It was wicked, although my 1 year old daughter wasn’t too fussy about the garlic cloves. She ate the meat but passed on the garlic. If she’s anything like her Dad she’ll come around soon.

Ingredients:

Beef Roast: 300 gr (boneless and trimmed)
Butter: 1 tbsp
Garlic: 4 cloves
Onion: 1 medium
Tomato Paste: 1/2 tsp
Turmeric: 1/2 tsp
Beef Broth: 2 cups
Olive Oil: a splash

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees F.
2. Peel the garlic cloves and use The Garlic Chop to chop the garlic. Then dice up onion.
3. Saute onion until brown and then put in the turmeric.
4. Then cut vertical incisions into the beef and insert garlic cloves around the roast.
5. Put the roast with the sautéed onion and brown on each side.
6. Introduce the tomato paste and continue to cook for another minute or so
7. Add the beef stock to the pot and bring to simmer, add salt and pepper.
8. Cover with aluminum and cook in the oven for 2 hours or until the inside temperature reaches 135 F. (Check on the roast halfway through to make sure there is enough broth).
9. Take off aluminum and cook for 10 minutes longer
10. Let the roast rest for 10 minute tented in aluminum foil before carving.

 

Garlic Toast

This is a great recipe for some homestyle garlic and two-cheese toast – with extra garlic! The melty cheese and delicious garlic flavours are a perfect accompaniment to soups, salads and especially chili!!

Ingredients

One french baguette (wholewheat or white – it’s your choice!)
2-4 cloves of fresh garlic, chopped finely with your Garlic Chop
1/2 cup butter (melted)
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup mozzarella cheese
1/2 teaspoon oregano or mixed Italian seasoning

Method:

This is probably one of the easiest recipes ever! Simply slice the French baguette in half length-wise, and then into 5 or 6 rounds. Mix all the rest of the ingredients together in a bowl and then brush this tasty garlicy-cheesey mixture on to the cut side of each piece of bread. Put the bread onto a baking sheet or a baking tray and broil for 3-4 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the bread lightly toasted.

And there you go! Garlic toast!

Chinese Broccoli-Beef With Black Bean Sauce

This flavorful oriental-inspired dish is quick and easy to make but tastes delicious. You can substitute the beef for chicken, pork or tofu – and you can add more garlic if you like (we always do!) You can serve the broccoli beef with rice or noodles – and don’t forget the fortune cookies!

Ingredients:

1 lb beef steak
1 head of broccoli
4 tablespoons vegetable oil
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cornstarch
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1/4 cup chicken stock
3 cloves of garlic – chop them with your Garlic Chop!
1 inch piece fresh ginger root, finely chopped
2 tablespoons black bean sauce
1/2 cup canned bamboo shoots (sliced, optional)
1/2 cup canned water chestnuts (sliced, optional)

Method:

Cut the beef into two inch strips, making sure to trim any fat first. Then slice each of the strips lengthwise. Cut the broccoli florets from the stems – you can use the stems, sliced into one inch pieces in this dish too but make sure to peel them first because they can be tough! Place the broccoli in a saucepan of boiling water and cook for 2 minutes to soften it a little. Drain, and then rinse with cold water to stop it cooking further.

Heat two tablespoons of the vegetable oil in a wok or heavy-bottomed frying pan until it is very hot – then add the beef and stir fry for about 2 minutes until it is browned all over – then remove it from the pan.

Add another tablespoon of vegetable oil and stir fry the garlic, ginger and black bean sauce for 30 seconds. Then add the bamboo shoots and water chestnuts if you are using them, and stir fry for 1 minute.

Stir in the beef and broccoli and add the corn starch, sesame oil and chicken stock. Cook, stirring until the sauce thickens – this should not take long.

And that’s it! Serve with rice or noodles and some green tea on the side, and enjoy.

Mouthwatering Garlic Mushroom Pizza

This recipe for a fantastic garlic mushroom pizza is one of our favorites – and it’s so easy to make! We’ll even show you how to make the pizza dough from scratch! This type of pizza is actually called a pizza bianca – or “white pizza”, which means that instead of a tomato pizza sauce you use a simple olive oil and chopped garlic mixture, so you can really taste those mushrooms! Of course, if you want to use a regular pizza sauce instead this recipe will still taste great!

Ingredients (makes two medium pizzas)

Pizza dough from scratch:
2 teaspoons dried yeast
1 teaspoon sugar
2 cups plain (all purpose) flour
2 1/2 tablespoons milk
1 egg
1 teaspoon sea salt
Garlic sauce:
10 cloves of garlic – chop them with your Garlic Chop!
1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
1 teaspoon fresh thyme
Topping:
1/4 cup sliced onion
2 1/2 cups sliced mushrooms
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Method:

Pizza dough made from scratch will need about 2 hours in a warm place to rise properly. If you don’t have time for that you can always buy a store-bought pizza base and skip the “making the dough” part of this recipe!

Making the dough:

Put the yeast into a small bowl with the sugar and four tablespoons of lukewarm water, and stir. Leave the mixture until it starts to froth (approximately 10 minutes). While you are waiting, sift the flour into a large bowl and make a well in the center. Add the milk, egg, salt and yeast mixture and mix the ingredients together until a stiff dough is formed.

Lift the dough mixture on to a clean surface with plenty of flour on it (to stop the dough from sticking) and knead it until it is nice and smooth and stretchy.

Rub some olive oil around a large bowl and place the dough inside, rubbing some more olive oil over the dough. Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and then put the bowl somewhere warm for about 2 hours. During this time the dough should double in size.

Now get your oven piping hot by pre-heating it to 400°F (200°C).

Making the pizza

Using your Garlic Chop, finely chop the 10 cloves of garlic and combine with the olive oil and thyme. Leave the flavors to infuse while you divide your nicely-risen dough in half and roll it out on to a floured surface. Then put the pizza bases on to two oiled pizza baking trays, and spread half of the olive oil and garlic mixture on to each base.

Next, add the sliced mushrooms and onions and top with the shredded cheese. Place the pizzas in your oven and bake for 15 minutes.
